You are the Hanged Man

Self-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound.

With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of
loss from a situation, rather than gain.

The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.

The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.

Moving Stress, I think [Jun. 18th, 2009|09:54 am]
[Current Mood | stressed]

As many of you know, and to others who didn't, I am moving tomorrow. I know many of you may think, whats the big deal, everybody moves at some point,  but the closer it gets, the more stressed i become.

Lets put this in perspective, the how i am currently living in, my family and I have occupied for about 30 years, and for those of you know me, know i am only 25, thus this has been the only home I have ever known.

Now I keep being reminded, that with all my social activities i am never really home very often, and thus no matter the location it doesn't really change much, and up until a few days ago, I would have agreed with them.

Most of our boxes have been moved, all we really have left in our house are the big furniture and appliances which will be taken care of by professionals, but for some reason, lately, I haven't been sleeping well. I seem to be going to bed a lot earlier due to exhaustion, and waking up round the same time I usually do, which will have to change after this weekend, since I am further from work. I would have thought that getting more than enough sleep would be beneficial to me, but so far it seems like the opposite.

It also seems that anything that can go wrong has already. The store i bout my bedroom set from, put the entered the wrong date of delivery, and thus after much "discussion" have come to an agreement of an earlier day then they entered but a later day than they had originally told me, so i have no new bed for a week. It is becoming more and more of a hassle to try to change the address on all the governemtn forms for not only myself but for my parents as well, and since my internet has been cut for a week until they can transfer the service, all this has to be done during work hours.

On top of all that, I am still attempting to run an event, in which i am not even going to, because of the move, and thus all the ideas I had for it may not be feasible.  Also, it has been assumed that I prepared for every situation, and thus realized that there are are tons of small things that i never thought of before, being inexperienced in the whole running of events.

So it seems that stress has overwhelmed me like an oil spill in a small lake, and its really draining me to the point where im not really motivated to do anything anymore.

Help me LJ world, you're my only hope.

You are almost universally admired. People strive to be like you.

You are also highly valued. Your friendship, approval, and advice are all considered priceless.

You live an inspiring, fortunate life. Not many people are as lucky as you are.

Well the curse continues. Every major holiday that I am off, I always end up wasting my entire day on a major computer problem, and yesterday was no exception.

I was having some problems on my laptop on-board speakers, and realized it was probably a driver problem. I went to Toshiba's website to see if there were any new drivers. There were, and I decided that since i was her I would update all the drivers I had on my system.

On doing so, I also decided to update my Bios driver. After doing so, and restarting my computer, like it suggested, I came upon the one thing that hinders me from entering my computer, a Bios Password. Now I have had my laptop for a bit under a year now, and never had to go into my Bios, thus never creating a password. I searched high and low on these Internets , using what is believed to be backdoor passwords to get in, but to no avail.

I called Toshiba technical support to ask for their help and they could not find a way to help me at all. they told me to go to an authorized Toshiba repair center, since my laptop is still under warranty.

Now this morning i get up early as all hell, to go bring the laptop to their dealer to get it fixed asap, but they say it can take up to 2 days to do it.

I am missing my little baby, I don't like having other people touch it, even when I am around, if it needs to be used for anything, I am always there to do it.

I hope that it will be ready either by the end of today or at least tomorrow morning

I will miss all of you who are staying back and I will have a drink or two for each.

I know that a lot of you have realized my interest in gambling, especially in the SCA and I have made an attempt to implement it during some events, not only for fun but for a great fundraiser.

In my search for new games and techniques on playing these games I came across this, which astounded me to no end.

Enjoy this article and tell me your opinion on what game or activity this was used for.

It seems like many times when discussing about Rapier, there is a subject that tends to come up. that being RBGs (Rubber Band Guns). I know that at GNEW they arent allowed due to security reason, concerning spectators. I have always hear or a rumor of repeating crossbow version of an RBG, as well as people joking about a Gatling gun version, which sounds interesting, but i never thought it would be feasible. Until Now!!1. I introduce to you all, THE DISINTEGRATOR.

Go here and see the amazing weapon for yourselves, and tell me what you think.

about Friggin Time [Nov. 30th, 2007|02:26 pm]
[Current Location |work]
[Current Mood | drunk]

Just to start off, this is NOT a Rant.

This is me finally doing a proper update of stuffs going on with me.

Lets start with the basics, For those of you who I havent spoken to in a while and don't know any goings on in my life, I am employed, and have been since June. I work for Alliance Vivafilm in the accounting department.

It always seems that at the point when I have money coming in, that I tend to get more expenses building up.

My time at the SCA is getting better. I am finally feeling like I am contributing a bit to the game as a whole, and not being just some "Stick-Jock". I am develeping an idea on what I want to be known for, for now. It isnt conventional like some other people's activities, but I want to get the idea of gambling, games of chance, and slight of hand carnival tricks that are authentic, to get people interested in coming to events and enjoying themselves when their interests are being represented.

Love life is still going strong. It is difficult to deal with when both members of a relationship are stubborn like mules, but we seem to have gotten the hang of it again. Now if only we were able to understand and accept each others differences and upbringings, then things might not blow up as often.

Last night I had my first proper company christmas party. It was exciting to eat fancy foods and mingle with people. I met up and had a drink or two with Jacques l'Heureux, a famous french actor. (if you want to know who he is, He is the one who played Passe-Montagne on Passe-Partout. Passe-Carreau was there also, but didn't have much time to say more then just hello to her.) After all the Bigwigs were gone, is when hte real party started. I got to see a completely different side to my co-workers. Although they are very friendly, they we tend to see each other mostly as colleagues and mostly talk business, but everyone seemed to lighten up yesterday, and I got to know alot more about people yesterday, and I realized that some of have alot more in common than I thought.

Anyways I should be getting back to work.

I will try to keep you all posted on the happenings of my life a bit more often.

See you all on the flip side.
